Well, Bones, it depends what you mean by "compare."
Both sugar and honey contain the same amount of calories (4kcal) per gram weight. However, a tablespoon of honey weighs more than a tablespoon of sugar and thus provides more calories.
Both sucrose and honey are composed of glucose and fructose - honey also contains a small amount of galactose. However, honey contains a greater amount of fructose, sweeter to the taste than sucrose, which allows you to use less for the sweetness you are looking for (compared to sugar).
Neither differ significantly in nutrient content, but there has been some research indicating that honey may act as a minor antioxidant and also contains prebiotics, which aid in digestion.
I'm not really sure how honey compares to other sweeteners like agave or stevia.

So what you're saying is that I should kick my morning big mac habit and trade it in for an iced coffee...just crazy enough to work
You got it Shortz.
cold coffee...gross.
big mac for breakfast, also gross.
how about 5 pieces of thick cut bacon? (when you live in texas you have to buy it thick).
kata i took your advice on the yogurt and now i buy plain fat free yogurt and add my own bit of sugar and my own fruit.
Speaking of adding sweeteners, Kata, how does honey compare to other sugars?
