Okay, guys while I do think we should hang out memorial day weekend if possible this is a very different proposal. So for Eric's birthday (August 7) we were thinking of going down to Florida to see the shuttle launch. They are retiring the shuttle soon so this is pretty cool and launches are really cool to see - i've seen them, trust me :) . My parents own a timeshare down there and we want to rent one of the rooms. We get a 25% discount. The place is really nice, has a hot tub, pool, its all oceanfront (seriously like 50 ft from the ocean).
So it would cost ~$35 person per night but if someone wants to come and can't afford that much we would definitely help out. There is a kitchen in the room so we could save lots on food. I think flights to orlando are always pretty cheap....$150-$200 round trip
I know it will be hot as hell in august in florida but its right on the ocean so i think its a lot better and the water would actually be warm! We would probably go down Wed Aug 5th after work and come back either Sunday night or Monday morning (Aug 10th) and have a half day at work. So it would be 2 1/2 days off or less if you can flex it or something like that.

So if anybody is interested or even if you are not interested please let me know...we kind of have to book the room in advance...don't feel bad if you don't wanna go, I realize its a decent amount of money and may not be convenient, etc.... if people wanna go and try to find lower cost housing that could be an option too.

i was looking at other places to stay down there and it seems like we could definitely find a cheaper but still nice place to stay...more like $20 per person per night
Sorry kids, my vacation days are gone til next year. My Dad is retiring in a month and we're going up to Canada to do some fishing in August and that pretty well cashes me out til '10.
sounds like fun to me kal! money may be an issue tho...when do you need a definite answer by?
